Stone County Health Departmet Thanks Volunteers with H1N1 Appreciation Celebration

Community Heroes is a volunteer program that recruits, trains, and prepares volunteers to assist the Stone
County Health Department in responding to a bioterrorist attack or other public
health emergency. Community Heros also provides many different opportunities during non-emergency times. You will be matched to tasks based on your skills, interests, and availability.

What
Who
YOU! Every person has a skill, talent or experience that can be invaluable to a community during times of crisis.
Experience shows that a local community must be able to sustain itself for the first 72 hours following a disaster until outside help can arrive. Trained volunteers are a critical part of this initial response. As a Community hero, you will be trained how to prepare for and participate in a public health response for a variety of disaster situations.
Why

Where

You will primarily volunteer in Stone County, but may make yourself available to help neighboring counties in southwest Missouri, if you wish.
Volunteer for one day, one hour, one week-any amount of time. Every minute you give is priceless to the person you help.
